Divide the weight of coffee by the displaced water volume to find the density. This method is more accurate but requires sacrificing some coffee.

Roasting with Density in Mind: Knowing the density of your coffee beans can guide your roasting process. Denser beans conduct heat more efficiently, so they generally roast faster. Additionally, they preserve sugars and acids better, resulting in a more complex and flavorful cup. So, as a roaster, you can adjust your roast plan based on the density of your beans.
